Navigating Custom Fields in SAP SuccessFactors Mobile Time Off Feature

Hello Everyone,

I want to share some crucial information about using the ‘Time Off’ feature in the SAP SuccessFactors Mobile App. 

While configuring time off in the app, I noticed a gap in available warnings or guidance. This oversight can lead to significant challenges, both for you and your clients, as it may prevent the proper use of time off features in the mobile app. 

One critical point to keep in mind:

Custom Fields Visibility Issue: If you add custom fields to a time type in the employee time screen while configuring time off (in systems where time sheets are not active), these custom fields might not appear in the mobile application once time off is activated. For example, in screenshots, required fields in these time types are not visible in the mobile app, preventing the submission of requests. However, some custom fields are visible, depending on their data types.

Supported Data Types: It’s essential to know which data types are supported in the mobile app to ensure a smooth experience. Currently, only the following data types are supported for Mobile Time Off:

-String

-Number

-Decimal

-Boolean

-Date

-Picklist

-Attachment

Unsupported Data Types: Unfortunately, some data types are not supported in the mobile app and will not appear when requesting leave. These include:

-DateTime

-Translatable

-Data Source

-User

-Generic Object

-Auto Number

These unsupported data types are planned to be made available in future releases. 

To avoid potential issues, always consider these limitations during the configuration phase. Stay informed and configure wisely!
